2021-2022 Diversity & Inclusion Committee

Committees run concurrently with EACE's fiscal year, July 1 - June 30. Diversity & Inclusion is moving to a standing EACE Committee beginning in the 20221-2022 year. 

Committee Purpose/Mission :

EACE promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion where all are respected, accepted and safe. The Diversity & Inclusion Team develops, organizes, and coordinates diversity, equity,  and inclusion efforts tied to the mission of EACE. Within the diversity and inclusion team, there are members who serve as liaisons to each EACE committee ensuring that D&I concerns are heard and considered. There are also several affinity groups that serve as safe spaces and resource groups to the organization. These affinity groups include but may not be limited to:

  • Community College Affinity Group
  • Minority Business Recruiting Group
  • HBCUs & HSIs Affinity Group
  • LGBTQIA+ Affinity Group
  • Neurodiversity Affinity Group
  • Latinx Affinity Group
  • First Generation Interest Group
  • Religious Denomination Interest group
  • First Nations/Indigenous
  • AAPI Interest Group

Requirements of the Committee:

D&I Co-Chairs

  • Work with Director of D&I to develop goals for Affinity Groups and Committee Liaisons
  • Develop goals tied to the EACE Mission for each Affinity Group and Committee Liaison with leads
  • Responsible for ensuring all affinity group activities are added to the EACE Master Calendar
  • Hold monthly meetings with team leads in the designated areas starting January 2022
  • Attend bi-monthly D&I meetings hosted by Director of D&I and actively participate starting January 2022
  • Actively participate as a member of the EACE committee by attending scheduled meetings and working toward the goals of the committee
  • Ensure D&I voices and concerns are heard and considered in all committee programs and services
  • Fall Semester Meeting Schedule

Committee Liaisons (Annual Conference, Connections, Grants & Scholarships, Leadership & Recognition, Professional Development, PR & Marketing and Technology)

 

  • Actively participate as a member of the EACE committee by attending scheduled meetings and working toward the goals of the committee
  • Ensure D&I voices and concerns are heard and considered in all committee programs and services
  • Fall Semester Meeting Schedule
    • Attend monthly meetings and actively participate 
  • Spring Semester Meeting Schedule
    • Attend bi-monthly monthly D&I Committee Liaison OR Affinity Group Liaison meetings hosted by D&I Co-Chairs and actively participate/report updates from the represented committee or affinity group
    • Attend bi-monthly D&I meetings hosted by Director of D&I and actively participate 

 

Affinity Group Leads (Community College Affinity Group, Minority Business Recruiting Affinity Group, HBCUs & HSIs Affinity Group, LGBTQIA+ Affinity Group, Neurodiversity Affinity Group, Latinx Affinity Group, First Generation Interest Group, Religious Denomination Interest group, First Nations/Indigenous, AAPI Interest Group)

  • Provide space to EACE members interested in an affinity group to be able to collaborate with each other on topics and issues of interest to the group.
  • Affinity group leads work with D&I Co-Chair to create a schedule of activities for the year - content sharing throughout the year (via social media channels, EACE Blog, and listserv, etc.), 1 virtual meetup, 1 event.
  • Organize, facilitate affinity group meetings, content and delivery methods
