Cultivating Career Readiness Abroad: Career Exploration and Professional Development in the UK

This session will address how study abroad can empower students to develop and articulate competencies identified by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) to be essential for young professionals. We will discuss a case study that provided students the opportunity to identify, develop, and articulate career competencies not only outside the classroom but outside the country while being able to acquire an international perspective on career development and the workplace. Through this session, you'll learn more about how Towson University and Global Experiences partnered to pilot the first career education class abroad from program design, recruitment, logistics and implementation. Kelly and Katie will reflect on the successes and challenges of career education abroad and how you can start thinking of integrating career readiness into opportunities at your university.
