Director, Career Growth (2-year term)

Position Qualifications

The ideal candidate has prior experience in planning or coordinating professional development programs/events for EACE or another organization in a leadership capacity; ability to identify career growth and development needs of diverse constituencies; ability to effectively assess lifelong learning initiatives; knowledge of technology applications to enhance and deliver face-to-face and distance learning; enthusiastic, encouraging, and equitable manner; proven ability to motivate volunteers and facilitate the effective completion of projects; excellent communication skills; ability to function strategically with other leaders; demonstrated ability to follow-up with others in an effective and timely manner; serve as model for fiscal integrity in conducting EACE business; and has demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in regards to EACE members and those the organization’s members serve.

Director, Career Growth Responsibilities

  • Support the Professional Development Committee in their creation of career development and lifelong learning activities, including but not limited to workshops and other programs. 

  • Serve as liaison and sounding board to the chairs of the sub-committees: Webinars/Virtual Programs, Mentoring, and Continuing Education.

  • Investigate technology and certifications that will enhance career development and continuing education programming.

  • Conduct membership surveys to identify program needs.

  • Benchmark professional development activities against other professional associations.

  • Network with leadership from other professional associations for collaborative programming.

  • Promote practical, career growth-oriented ethical and legal standards.

  • Foster volunteer engagement in committees/sub-committees and encourage a pipeline for future leaders in the Professional Development Committee.
  • Establish continuity plans for committee leadership and for the next person elected in this role to ensure that information and best practices are being handed down over time.
  • Perform such duties as assigned by the President and the Board of Directors
