EACE gives back to the community! Each year, the association contributes to a charity local to the home of our Annual Conference.

The 2018 Community Service Committee is excited to be working with the Embry Rucker Community Shelter (ERCS), a 70-bed residential shelter that provides healthy, safe, emergency housing for families and single men and women. Located in Reston, Virginia, the shelter is dedicated to helping clients overcome the circumstances that led to their homelessness, and facilitate their transition to stable housing.

The committee is asking conference attendees to contribute in the following ways: 

Donate 

Donate a $10 gift card to drop off at registration. Suggestions include Target, CVS, Kohls, McDonalds, Wawa, Burger King. Click here for a full list of suggested gift cards. Gift cards offer shelter residents an opportunity to be independent, and will be distributed by Embry Rucker case workers directly to their clients. We will also have a box at the end of the conference to collect used Metro cards for shelter residents.

Dedicate

Dedicate some time during the conference. Thanks to everyone who signed up to help assemble lunches at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Tuesday, June 26 from 9:30-10:30 AM in the Reston Room. All vacancies have been filled at this time.

  Pick up coupons at Hospitality Suite to present when dining. 15% check donations

  Ask for a 2nd, original, itemized receipt and give to Jennifer Barr. 10% check donations
• Not Your Average Joe’s (1845 Fountain Dr., Reston) – Monday & Tuesday
  Pick up coupons at Hospitality Suite to present when dining. 15% check donations
• The Counter (11922 Democracy Dr., Reston) – Monday
  Pick up coupons at Hospitality Suite to present when dining. 20% check donations
• PassionFish (11960 Democracy Dr., Reston) – Monday & Tuesday
  No coupons needed. $200 donation
• Founding Farmers (1904 Reston Metro Plaza Dr., Reston) – Monday & Tuesday
  No coupons needed. $500 donation
