Director Career Center Williams College seeks a Director of the Career Center, reporting to the Vice President for College Relations. The Director is responsible for setting the ambitious goals of the Career Center and ultimately responsible for their achievement. The Director and Career Center staff collaborate with faculty and staff colleagues on career development programs, partner with Alumni Relations to foster internship and employer relationships, and organize other stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and integrated delivery of career services that connect the undergraduate experience with post-graduation outcomes. Williams is a liberal arts college of 2,100 students, located in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. One of the most highly ranked colleges in the country, Williams has built its reputation on outstanding teaching and scholarship, the academic excellence of its students, and the exceptional loyalty of its alumni. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: *Manage seven staff members, ensure their ongoing professional development, and mentor them in their work *Guide the creation and deployment of programs designed to effectively prepare all Williams students to assess their professional interests and relevant competencies, as well as explore diverse career fields *Creatively cultivate relationships with alumni and parent networks on behalf of current students *Serve as an effective spokesperson for the Career Center with external and internal constituencies *Participate as an active member of the college community, including in service on various college committees -Maintain a small portfolio of direct student counseling assignments
Requirements: *Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred in a related field with a minimum of seven years of progressive experience *Excellent judgment, impeccable integrity and reliability, and high ethical standards that engender trustworthiness *Adaptability, flexibility, and an engaging interpersonal style *Ability to think and act both strategically and tactically *Collaborative work style and expertise in building relationships and partnerships with a broad array of internal and external stakeholders *Excellent presentation and communication skills (listening, verbal, and written) *A demonstrated commitment to diversity and to building/supporting inclusive communities For optimal consideration, please submit resume materials by August 7, 2015.
