Job Description

The Office of Student Affairs and the new Breen Center for Graduate Success seeks an associate dean of the Breen Center for graduate success to lead a transformational reimagining of career services at Lebanon Valley College. In conjunction with the president, vice president of student affairs and dean of students, vice president of academic affairs and dean of the faculty, and other senior leaders at the College, the associate dean will provide strategic direction, outcomes-oriented management, and daily administration of the newly funded Breen Center for Graduate Success.

The Breen Center for Graduate Success will be among the finest centers of its kind in the country. The Center will guarantee access for all Lebanon Valley students – full-time undergraduate, online, and graduate students - to a best-in-class program of preparation for success. Students will secure the tools, skills, strategies, and experiences necessary for making informed decisions regarding vocation, securing a first job, managing career success, and accessing a career network following graduation.


Qualifications include a Master’s degree in human resources, career development, student personnel services, counseling, guidance or related field; a minimum of seven years of progressive demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in career services, career or vocational counseling, placement, student personnel, student development in higher education, human resources or a closely related field; strong leadership skills and a passion for innovation; evidence of strong supervisory and managerial skills, including managing budgets; demonstrated effectiveness as career counselor and educator; strategic planning, assessment and evaluation skills; proven ability to provide instruction and guidance regarding job search and graduate school application skills, including resume development, interview skills, writing of professional statements/essays; demonstrated ability to develop, promote, and implement programs and services; ability to utilize and review assessment data to create and share reports designed to measure service and program success as well as to highlight student learning outcomes; experience with technology in the delivery of career development; experience in using career management database systems; and the ability to develop productive relationships with community representatives, area employers, professional organizations, and peer institutions.
