The University of Richmond is currently seeking an Associate Director, Career Services. This individual will be responsible for providing leadership for the University of Richmond's career advising and programming for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as alumni of the Schools of Arts and Sciences, Business and Leadership Studies. The Associate Director represents the office to a broad range of constituents, including students, parents, employers, faculty, staff and alumni to fulfill the goals and mission of the Office of Alumni and Career Services. The Associate Director, Career Services coordinates and leads career advising efforts for students interested in finance careers and takes a leadership role in planning Spiders on Wall Street, Deconstructing Wall Street and related finance programs. Additionally, this position oversees all elements of an alumni mock interview program for students interested in finance and also conducts finance mock interviews. The Associate Director, Career Services advises students and alumni in individual appointments and researches, develops and delivers industry-specific programming. The role leads a strategic and coordinated approach to career services for the Robins School of Business, including formation of annual comprehensive business school career advising and programming goals. The successful candidate serves as the department liaison to the finance industry as well as other assigned industries/professions.


The successful candidate will possess a Masters in Education/Counseling/Higher Education Administration, Business or related field or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years experience in career services, college recruiting and/or finance, at a managerial level. Career advising and programming experience and thorough understanding of career development theories, particularly with business and liberal arts students and alumni; Extensive knowledge of finance career paths; Familiarity with career needs of alumni; Supervision and leadership skills; Team building and collaborative abilities; Strategic planning and implementation; Goal-setting; Oral and written communication skills; Experience in outcomes and program assessment and evaluation; Thorough understanding of cutting-edge career services technologies; Budget management experience
