Take Away and Give Back at the 2011 EACE Annual Conference

The EACE Annual Conference is historically recognized as an event which offers innumerable opportunities for conference take-aways: new connections, best practices, and professional development galore. The 2011 conference will offer something invigorating and new: the opportunity to give back.

The 2011 EACE Annual Conference has decided to make a contribution that will benefit the community in the conference’s host city. To that end, the Conference Committee is excited to announce a new partnership with the SEED Foundation, organizing a raffle with the proceeds to benefitThe SEED School of Maryland.

The SEED School is a statewide, public, college-preparatory boarding school offering an extraordinary learning and living experience in preparation for college and beyond. The SEED Foundation partners with urban communities to provide innovative educational opportunities to prepare underserved students for success by combining a rigorous academic program with a nurturing boarding program that teaches life skills and provides students with a safe and secure environment. More details on this exciting charitable effort (and how to win some incredible prizes – including an iPad!) will be available soon. Register for the 2011 EACE Annual Conference today at www.eace.org.

High Stakes Interns?
How can employers, faculty and career centers help students be more productive in that first-post baccalaureate job? Even students who have been identified as early entry hi-po’s (high potentials) require specific competencies in order to be more effective. Employers, faculty and career centers will be interested to learn more about these identified skills gaps.

Webinar presenter, Dr. Philip D. Gardner is Director of Research for the Collegiate Employment Research Institute at Michigan State University and a respected expert on the transition from college to work and early workforce socialization. Employers and colleges will find his recent research on the skills gap of undergraduates who enter the work force. Don’t miss this important session.

Cost: $29.00 for members; $99.00 for non-members.
