TUESDAY, JANUARY 5
- Philadelphia Zoo, Philadelphia, PA
10am – 12pm
The Philadelphia Zoo’s 42-acre Victorian garden is home to more than 1,300 animals, many of them rare and endangered. The Zoo, fulfilling its mission of conservation, science, education and recreation, supports and engages in conservation efforts to protect endangered species around the world. Cheetahs, hippos, giraffes and much more make the Zoo Philadelphia's leading family attraction with over 1.2 million visitors last year.
Students will tour the zoo while learning about the complex structure that keeps America’s First Zoo running. We will meet with various departments from development to animal care, and if possible, meet with keepers and curators. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about our various internships, volunteer positions, and seasonal jobs that would prepare them for a career with the zoo.
Anyone with a passion for animals, conservation and education is encouraged to attend – even if they major in seemingly unrelated fields like marketing, finance, English and hospitality management.
