1. Describe your interest in serving on the EACE Board in this capacity.

Dawn Lazar-Fredella has had the pleasure of being a member of SOACE and NACE in the past and since moving to the Northeast two years ago, she joined EACE and shortly thereafter began serving as a Co-Chair on the EACE Professional Connections Committee.  She strongly believes in the power of networking and the importance of continuous professional development throughout one’s career and as a result, she makes every effort to get involved in professional organizations like EACE to not only provide her with these opportunities but to give contribute to other’s success as well.  Dawn likes to make a positive impact whenever she is able and given her background and experience in the field, she feels she’d have an opportunity to do just that by serving the employers in EACE and provide them opportunities to see how  the organization could benefit them not only by connecting them to their target market, but by also helping them develop both personally and professionally.

2. What skills and experiences do you possess that have prepared you to be successful in this role?

Dawn has been a Co-Chair for the EACE Professional Connections Committee and was instrumental in working with the committee to launch the EACE Mentorship Program and more recently the EACE Google Hangout online networking events.  Professionally, she is the Talent Development Manager for the Talent Management Team at Cenlar FSB, where she not only oversees the college recruiting strategy but also provides direct oversight to all talent development programming for new grads and interns once onsite.  She has spent the past 5 years of her career focusing on university relations and talent development. Prior to this, she spent 10 years of her career working in higher education. Her most recent position in a university environment was as an Assistant Director for the Business Career Center at Florida International University. This experience of having worked on both the college and employer side will give her a unique perspective working in the role of Director, Employer Member Services.

3. What ideas and/or goals do you have for this position?

  • Partner with Director of Membership Recruitment and Retention to implement ways to attract more employer members
  • Partner with Director of Professional Development to provide more opportunities for employer development vs. college development
  • Partner with Conference Committee/Professional Connections Committee to implement simple low cost effective ways to allow employers to better engage with their target market both at conference and throughout the year
